Besides visiting a city or beach there are plenty of recreational possibilities in nature. Alhaurin el Grande lies at the Sierra de Mijas, where hikers and mountainbikers can make great tours. From this mountainrange you will have spectacular views over the guadalhorce valley and even Málaga and its harbour.
The beautiful national parc of Sierra de las Nieves is right behind the coast of Marbella. Not even 10 km inland and is a mecca for hikers and nature lovers. For the brave among us without fear of hights a walk over the Caminito del Rey is a must. This King’s path has finally re-opened for the public after carefull reconstruction. It consists of a 7 km walk on 100m high path in the El Chorro canyon.
